Why Most People Are Over-Diagnosed

Why does everyone have a “disorder” these days? ADHD, Autism, Depression, BPD, OCD. Everyone seems to have something. I was speaking to a DOCTOR yesterday who studies autism (because his Son has it). He believe Autism is massively OVER diagnosed. Why is this? The mental Science, Psychology, is the key to understanding this. Diagnosing someone … Read more

Why Big Goals Won’t Give You Motivation

It’s a mistake to assume that you need a big goal to push you forward in life. Goals can be very helpful – but the big question is what your understanding of a goal is:  What is the purpose of a goal? Why do we set goals?  What drives us to work towards our goals?  … Read more

Why Are So Many of My Clients Struggling Christians?

The Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious

My favorite passage from all of Jung’s work is an explanation of him working with a patient. I love it because it shows his ideas in practice, instead of in theory.

Now that I’ve started taking on ladies and gentlemen professionally, I’ve quickly learned the gravity of this cliche.

Of course, the “type” of person who gets into psychology is almost always stuck in their head. This is the archetype of the intellectual. Jung himself had to face this part of himself right at the beginning of The Red Book.

10 Great Books from the Western Canon

“You said in one of the Aion lectures that you can distill the western canon down to 10 books, whats the list ?” Quite a few of the boyos ask me about this. So I’ll deliver, but not without context. “The West” has a spine – even better a spiritual spine. The word spiritual has … Read more
